Base Security Lights: A Dual Purpose

The revolving red lights seen at Stargate Command are as symbolic for incoming and outgoing travelers as Walter Harriman. Whenever you hear “Offworld activation” or “Chevron seven locked!” the lights wouldn’t be far behind. They’ve been with the series since Season One.
But did you know that they serve a dual purpose?
Not only were the security lights placed inside the sets, but they were also installed in all of the entrances leading to the sound stages. Visitors would know not to enter the stage until the lights stopped flashing — an additional signal to the “school bell” that rings twice when a take is completed.
Several of the lights are now in the hands of Propworx, and will be available for purchase in 2010!
