The Jewel of Her Eye

Well it’s Friday night, and you know what that means! The Propworx Stargate auctions come to an end in exactly two days. Yes, new items will then become available to satiate your Stargate appetite, but not before Dr. Elizabeth Weir’s necklace is gone!

Elizabeth Weir was the first female authority figure in charge of a Stargate base. The character was originally portrayed by Jessica Steen in the Stargate SG-1 Season Seven finale “Lost City,” and later by actress Torri Higginson. In the pilot of Atlantis, General Jack O’Neill made Weir leader of an expedition of scientists and explorers who traveled deep into the Pegasus Galaxy.

Weir was one of only two civilian leaders ever in charge of Atlantis base (Richard Woolsey would come later). Not bound by a military code, she often wore outfits which allowed her femininity to glow. A centerpiece of this wardrobe was often this lovely crest-shaped pendant necklace. The chain and pendant are both made of metal, with the chain measuring 16 inches long. At the center of the crest is a faux diamond.

This necklace has been one of the more viewed items of the week. Years after her death, Dr. Weir still has a number of loyal followers. It’s our hope that this beautiful piece will go to just the right person!
