Play For Me a Simple Melody!

It may not have reminded Rodney McKay of the Ancient Janus’s favorite Brian Eno track, but the three musical light sconces from the Stargate Atlantis Season Five episode “First Contact” are still dang cool. And one is up for sale! The sconces, when their tones were emitted, could be played together to generate a magnetic harmonic resonance field and open a hidden passageway. Such was the case in “First Contact,” which featured the return of Daniel Jackson to the city of the Ancients.
Daniel monkeyed around with the lights and their separate tones for a number of minutes until it occurred to Rodney that they were meant to be played simultaneously in order to make the wall at the end of the hall penetrable.
Unfortunately this hero light sconce doesn’t actually emit a tone when touched, but it does light up! A limit switch in the back engages the light inside. The sconce features a paint job to resemble being submerged in water for an extended period of time. Accompanying this auction is the crystal wall mount which the sconce “plugged” into in the show. A socket on the back of the light itself allows the base to fit perfectly inside.
“First Contact” and “The Lost Tribe” were very special episodes in the Atlantis mythology, and Propworx is pleased to allow fans a chance to own one of the central props from the mid-season two-parter. Check out the item on eBay, and while you’re there don’t forget to have a look at more than 100 other pieces of Stargate memorabilia on sale now through Sunday night!

What a beautiful prop.
Will the other identical prop sconces be sold as well?
