The Sodan Staff: Shorter Length, Same Punch!

This variant of the iconic Jaffa staff weapon was introduced in the Stargate SG-1 Season Nine episode “Babylon,” where Colonel Cameron Mitchell is taken as a prisoner by the mysterious and secretive Jaffa culture known as the Sodan. Propworx is selling this beautiful prop this week!

Unlike the staff weapon introduced in the Stargate feature film and “Children of the Gods,” this variation ends abruptly just behind the handle. This allowed the Sodan warrior who wielded it to get much closer to his opponent in combat. Mitchell discovered this firsthand in “Babylon.” Although he gave it his all, his wounds from this staff ultimately incapacitated him. The shorter length also allowed the Jaffa to carry the staff weapon directly on his back.

This production-made staff is constructed of resin and hard rubber, which has been painted bronze with silver and turquoise highlights to simulate medal. The head of the staff is made of hard rubber, so as not to injure a stunt person if it makes contact, while the rest of the staff is made of resin.

Check out our listing for this item now on eBay, and while you’re there, take a look at more than 100 other Stargate auctions that will be available now through Sunday night.
